Current research

I am working towards creating 2D-IR spectroscopic techniques that will allow us to watch ion channels move upon an applied voltage. Currently I am working on a model system, where I am looking at the effects of voltage and pH on the conformation and position of a alamethicin, a transmembrane peptide, in a single bilayer tethered to our gold substrate. We have previously worked on enhancement techniques in order to observe a single bilayer on gold using localized surface plasmons, which we are publishing soon.
